BBC 1’s DIY SOS Team visited Wye Leisure on Thursday 22nd August to do some filming for their current ‘Big Build’ Project.
Young Christopher Gibbons suffers from Muscular Dystrophy, which is a condition that causes the muscles in the body to weaken and hampers mobility.
The project that the DIY SOS team have undertaken is to adapt the Gibbons Family house so that they can assist Christopher as his condition develops and make him as comfortable as possible.
The team spent time at Wye Leisure filming Christopher receiving treatment from his physiotherapist and long standing member Faustina Turner in our Hydro Spa. They also filmed a couple of interviews with his parents and well known BBC 1 Presenter, Nick Knowles.
We would like to thank all customers for their understanding on the day due to closer of the Hydro Spa for a couple of hours for filming.
With another 6 ‘Big Build’ Projects to do in the series, we have been informed that the program wont actually make TV screens for another 12 months.
