Seven months after the original order was placed, our eagerly awaited lounger cushions arrived a couple of weeks ago. With a supply issue from the original manufacturer, we opted to go with another firm, to which a “demo” has been flying around for the past three months whilst the other 49 cushions where made. We hope members approve and have been told they are very easy to fall asleep on, so be warned!
We have been approached by a local clothing firm if we would mind asking our members to complete a short survey on sports bras… A slightly off-camber topic to normal, but as we’ve been finding out, can be an issue whilst training. The company has supplied some material on the importance of using correctly fitting bras to which we’ve popped a link to, together with a link to the survey helping them understand what customers are looking for.
Please note the survey is (with exception of you IP Address) anonymous and no personal details will be shared with any third party.

The nutrition world was turned upside down at the end of May with the publishing of a new report claiming that the government nutrition advice we have been following for the last 30 years has in fact driven the Obesity and Diabetes epidemic. The report goes on to turn much of the advice on its head and suggests that a High Fat, Low Carbohydrate diet is the solution to the Obesity Crisis.

We are thinking about starting a new line of drinks! NutriBlasts… What does everyone think before we change our coffee shop around drastically, are they wanted?
Members now using the new Unity Equipment and using the MyWellness App will notice a measurement of “Moves”. Well, what is a MOVE?
The Move index is associated to the movement you perform and the correlated metabolic activity level of your body. It’s independent from the body weight, but through the body weight is directly correlated with your calorie expenditure.
Over the following months, members using the App will notice challenges being created by the gym staff. Some challenges will be directly linked to the moves performed and in a club challenge, the system of monitoring moves is a fairer way of measuring activity between members.
Our resident Dance & Yoga Instructors Becks White and Vicky Lightowler from The Starlight Company have produced their own show “DON’T STOP BELIEVING” In collaboration with local Choir the Helen Vereker Singers and also featuring Aspire Dance Studio.
You may have seen the girls rehearsing their numbers in the studio here at Wye Leisure but to see them in full flow, they will be dancing along with the rest of their company at Hereford’s Courtyard Theatre, on:
Following our recent roll out of new cardiovascular equipment and the introduction of the new Unity screens, members will need to speak with a trainer if they have either:
A massive thank you to all of our members with their understanding during the 2 day closure of the fitness suite, whilst Technogym swapped over the Cardiovascular Equipment. Things went well and we re-opened the fitness suite on Wednesday morning (02/03/16) as planned.
Monday the 29th of February is the day that Technogym deliver 39 new pieces of cardiovascular equipment to our fitness suite. Their installation team have estimated a closure of 2 days in order to undertake the swap, but please note all other parts of the club will be open as normal.
As normal, we thank everyone for their understanding whilst the fitness suite is closed.
We’ve changed the way we roll-out the weekly class updates. Now, instead of sending out an email every week, we pop a copy on our website for interested parties to view. This way, we don’t irritate members with too many unwanted emails… The link to the web page: http://www.wyeleisure.co.uk/blog/?page_id=2778 or if in doubt, simply view our online timetable and the link is viewable in the right column.
Unity, is Technogyms new Android based console or screen to which customers will use to operate all cardio equipment. We popped a little video showing customers these new unity screens in previous newsletters (if you missed it, click here). Our trainers have now started running group inductions taking about 10 minutes, to show gym users how to use the new screens and what to expect once the equipment is changed over.
Please note, once the equipment is changed over you will need to see a trainer to show you have to start / use the equipment, unless you get something sorted now!
We have laid on extra staff to undertake these quick inductions. Don’t leave things until the last minute… call us today to arrange one, on 01432 860860 (Option 3) and ask to book your “Unity Induction”.
