Monday the 29th of February is the day that Technogym deliver 39 new pieces of cardiovascular equipment to our fitness suite.  Their installation team have estimated a closure of 2 days in order to undertake the swap, but please note all other parts of the club will be open as normal.

As normal, we thank everyone for their understanding whilst the fitness suite is closed.

We’ve changed the way we roll-out the weekly class updates.  Now, instead of sending out an email every week, we pop a copy on our website for interested parties to view.  This way, we don’t irritate members with too many unwanted emails…  The link to the web page: http://www.wyeleisure.co.uk/blog/?page_id=2778 or if in doubt, simply view our online timetable and the link is viewable in the right column.

Unity, is Technogyms new Android based console or screen to which customers will use to operate all cardio equipment.  We popped a little video showing customers these new unity screens in previous newsletters (if you missed it, click here).  Our trainers have now started running group inductions taking about 10 minutes, to show gym users how to use the new screens and what to expect once the equipment is changed over.

Please note, once the equipment is changed over you will need to see a trainer to show you have to start / use the equipment, unless you get something sorted now!

We have laid on extra staff to undertake these quick inductions.  Don’t leave things until the last minute…  call us today to arrange one, on 01432 860860 (Option 3) and ask to book your “Unity Induction”.

Hopefully members are noticing a vastly improved Wi-Fi coverage and internet speed at the club.  This is due to Wye Leisure now being hooked-up to Fibre, we have had 9 new access points around the building and some flashy new switches/hubs in our office that regulate usage to each user.  We know to some, internet speeds of less than 1GB still seem slow, but to us they are epically fast!

Things are only going to get better here, as we plan another Fibre Line into the building to offload our own usage onto a separate line.

To start off the New Year, we’ve now added 4 new classes to the timetable.  Following popular demand, there are now two new Yoga, one Pilates and a Saturday morning Spin class scheduled each week.  We hope these will be met well!

Bookings for the classes are open now, so please feel free to call us on 01432 860860 (Option 3) to book, but don’t dordle, as the spaces are sure to go fast!

Spa Pool Works - Dec 2015

Whilst you are all out last minute Christmas Shopping, we have decided to do some maintenance to sort some of the tiles that have come off on the Hydro Pool. On Sunday, we will drain down the system and address the areas where tiles have come off.  All going well, we’ll have it filled and heated ready for Tuesday morning, fingers crossed.  All other areas of the club will be open as normal.

Closed from Sunday 20th December

Re-Open Tuesday 22nd December

Many thanks in advance for your understanding and patience whilst we undertake these works

As part of our Wi-Fi upgrade and what we hope is an improved service, we have now changed the log-on process.  As from today (16th December 15) when connecting to the Wi-Fi, your mobile device will re-direct you to a “Check in for free internet” page.  This is a Facebook Check-In page and anyone who is a member of Facebook can simply “check in” via Facebook to connect to the Wi-Fi.  The Wi-Fi is still free to use and it’s only this check-in process that’s changed.  Anyone who is not a member of Facebook, can simply by-pass this by clicking “Skip Check-In” and they will be re-directed to our landing page (Currently set as our Facebook page) via a log-in screen.  Then you can browse to your hearts content!

Fownhope Church held a Christmas Tree Festival over the weekend and Wye Leisure was asked if we would like to sponsor and decorate a tree!   Ben and Tom spent last week preparing decorations (a lot of which were hand made) and then decorated the tree last Friday.  The church held a cheese and wine evening on Friday and people have been able to attend since.  What a marvelous sight and variety of tree decorations on show!  Here are a few pictures of the Wye Leisure Tree (Our theme was “Christmas Markets”):

As most members will know, we do try hard to maintain the clubs facilities.  We decided earlier in the year that it’s about time we gave the Fitness Suite a bit of TLC!  In April this year we had a lovely trip across to Europe’s largest fitness industry trade show, where it was very apparent that Technogym are still world leaders in fitness equipment.

Yesterday (5th November 15) we kick-started plans to rejuvenate the fitness suite, visiting the UK headquarters of Technogym, choosing equipment and discussing upgrades that will enhance your experience in the gym.  We haven’t confirmed dates as yet, but will update members over the next couple of months as to when you may expect changes to happen.
